Master in Accounting and Financial Management (specialization in International Finance and Accounting)
The Master in Accounting and Financial Management (specialization in International Finance and Accounting) combines theory and practice with a highly participative methodology. The teaching objective is to analyse in depth both the conceptual frameworks, so as to understand and examine the world of financial management, and the most advanced applications used at present.
The teaching methodology of the face-to-face format encourages interaction among participants and, among other aspects, combines cases, corporate games, group work and the presenting of reports.
In addition to the delivery of the theoretical concepts by lecturers, the participants contribute actively. They discuss and solve practical cases; in teams, they perform role plays and corporate games based on actual problems and prepare a project putting the knowledge acquired into practice.
Between sessions, participants study the documentation provided and prepare the exercises they will subsequently resolve in class. For each teaching hour it is calculated students should spend one to two hours working outside the classroom.
Assessment is carried out based on class attendance (80% of the sessions for each module), class participation, set work, tests, exercises and the preparation of a dissertation.
Face-to-face masters programs, postgraduate courses and short courses at UPF Barcelona School of Management combine active student participation with the teaching of theoretical and practical concepts. This type of learning focuses on discussing and resolving case studies in the classroom and applying the knowledge acquired to real-life situations. Face-to face programs use Aula Global, the virtual campus, to maintain continuity between classroom sessions.
