L'Ana Freire és la Vicedegana d'Impacte Social i Innovació Acadèmica de la UPF Barcelona School of Management.

Anteriorment, era investigadora i lecturer en la Escola d'Enginyeria la Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF). També ha treballat arreu del món en institucions prestigioses com Yahoo Labs, la Universitat de Glasgow, i el centre de recerca nacional d'Itàlia. L'Ana investiga sobre l'impacte econòmic i social de la ciència de dades i la intel·ligència artificial, ha contribuït amb més de 50 publicacions científiques i diverses patents, i acumula nombrosos reconeixements nacionals i internacionals.
