UPF founds the Barcelona School of Management

The Pompeu Fabra University has announced the foundation of its new business school in Barcelona which is to be called the Barcelona School of Management. This new school has been set up with the vocation of reinforcing the university's position in business training and reinforcing its already recognised offer in this area. The school will be owned by IDEC-UPF, a private, non-profit making foundation founded in 1993 by Pompeu Fabra University, which will also count on the support of institutions such as the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce, Enagas, Catalunya Caixa, Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira y Garrigues.

The solid position which UPF and IDEC-UPF have achieved in economics and business training will now be at the service of this new project, which has been set up with an international calling to make a place for itself among the main business schools in this country.

The Barcelona School of Management will combine training in economics, business and public administation and will open next September. The school's administrative body will be constituted under the vice-presidency of Jaume Casals. At present, it is planning the design of the school's training offer, based on the bank of knowledge accumulated during recent years by UPF and IDEC-UPF and is formulating a process of increasing internationalisation with new programmes. Before the end of the current academic course there will be a presentation to explain all the details of this project in full.
