The Pompeu Fabra University leads the new inter-university Master in Science Leadership and Management, sponsored by Caixa Catalunya's Obra Social foundation
On 29th November last the new Master in Science Leadership and Management was presented at Caixa Catalunya\'s headquarters, with a talk by Jordi Camí, director of the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park and professor at the UPF. The Master, the first in this field to be offered in Spain, is organized jointly by the University of Barcelona, the Autonomous University of Barcelona and the Pompeu Fabra University, with sponsorship from Caixa Catalunya?s Obra Social foundation. The event was attended by Narcís Serra, president of Caixa Catalunya, and Josep Joan Moreso and Màrius Rubiralta, rectors of the UPF and UB respectively, and the Government of Catalonia?s Minister for Innovation, Universities and Business, Josep Huguet.
This Master is oriented at professionals in the field of biomedicine and health and life sciences, and supported by a Promotional Council made up of leading representatives of the political, scientific, research and business communities and a Teaching Council composed of professionals from the highest ranks of academia, research and private business. The UPF professors Josep-Eladi Baños and Joan Bigorra are the Academic Director and Scientific Director, respectively.
The Master course?s commitment to the different professions concerned is manifested in the agreements that IDEC has signed with the Col?legi de Biòlegs de Catalunya (Catalan biologists? association), the Col?legi Oficial de Metges de Barcelona (Barcelona doctors? association) and the Col?legi d?Ecomonistes de Catalunya (Catalan economists\' association) with a view to facilitating the professional training of those currently working in or interested in a career in the management and leadership of the institutions that will pass on scientific discoveries that can improve people?s quality of life.
