Oriol Amat, appointed member of the CNMV (Spanish Securities Market)

Elena Salgado, deputy prime minister of the Government and
minster for Finance has appointed Oriol Amat, professor in
Financial Economics and Accounting at the UPF, as member of the CNMV (Spanish
Securities Market

Oriol Amat i Salas is
a professor in Financial Economics and Accounting in the Department
of Business and Economics
at the UPF. He runs the Master in Finance
and Accounts Management at the Barcelona
School of Management
and the Teaching Quality and Innovation Centre (Centre
de Qualitat i de Innovació Docent
of the UPF. During his academic career he has been invited to be visiting
lecturer at various European, American and Asian universities. Oriol Amat
has a degree in Business Science and a doctorate in Economic Science from
the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, apart from an MBA from ESADE.

Beyond an academic scope, his professional career has taken place in the fields
of business and consultancy. He is the member of the board
of directors of several companies, forms part of the governing body of the
d'Economistes de Catalunya, is deputy chairman of the Associació Catalana
de Comptabilitat i Direcció (ACCID) and belongs to the economic advisory
board to the Generalitat de Catalunya. 

He has published several books on accounting and finance, such as  Euforia
y pánico
(2008), analysing the causes of the current economic situation.
He is on the editorial board of various publications, apart from running the
Revista de Comptabilitat i Direcció. His areas of interest
include company analysis and management accountancy.
