Montserrat Vendrell takes on the directorship of Barcelona Science Park

The board of the Foundation Barcelona Science Park (PCB) has approved the nomination of Montserrat Vendrell as general director of PCB, a responsibility that she will take on board along with her current position as general director of Biocat.

Montserrat Vendrell (Barcelona, 1964) holds a PhD in molecular biology, a Master in Scientific Communication at UPF-IDEC and an Executive Degree in General Management.

She was already linked to Barcelona Science Park, the first scientific park in Spain, during the first decade of its existence, when she worked as scientific director, and later as Deputy General Director.

The nomination of Montserrat Vendrell coincides with the start of the refurbishment of the new areas of Biocat within PCB, where this entity is planning on moving during the second half of the year.

Vendrell is also president of the Council of European bioregions (CEBR), the first European network of bioregions, founded in 2006, and made up of around a hundred members, including Biocat.
