Inauguration of the Postgraduate Programme in Scientific Communication in Argentina

June 19th saw the inauguration of the Postgraduate Programme in Scientific, Medical and Environmental Communication, which was held in the main auditorium of the Fundación Instituto Leloir. The programme is running in Buenos Aires until the end of November of this year.

The act was attended by the following representatives of the collaborating institutions: Osvaldo Podhajcer (Vice director Fundación Instituto Leloir), Carlos De Elía (Manager of Noticias Artear S.A.), Vladimir de Semir (Director of the programmes of Scientific Communication at UPF) and Daniel Vitali (UPF representative in Argentina).

The event was moderated by Martín Etchevers (Director of External Communications for the Clarín Group) and led by Guillermo Lobo, producer and presenter for the Todo Noticias news channel. There was general agreement on the need to bring scientific information closer to society as a whole. Claudio Zin, Minister of Health for the Province of Buenos Aires, also gave a talk to the 35 students registered on the programme.

The Postgraduate programme was officially opened with a master class by Vladimir de Semir postgraduate\'s director as well as director of Observatory of Scientific Communication at UPF, who placed a special emphasis on the strategic communication of scientific communication.

The Postgraduate in Scientific, Health and Environmental Communication is organised jointly by Universitat Pompeu Fabra, the Fundación Instituto Leloir and the Todo Noticias channel. It is sponsored by Novartis Argentina, Fundación Carolina Argentina and Fundación Noble and is also supported by the Ministerio de Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación Productiva of the Republic of Argentina.
