IDEC-Universitat Pompeu Fabra Master Plan Approved

On the 18th June the Governing Counsel of IDEC-Universitat Pompeu Fabra approved the IDEC 2007-2012 Director Plan. The plan is the culmination of a discussion process begun one year ago by the governing bodies of IDEC-Universitat Pompeu Fabra, the members of which are persons from academia and business and include the executive leadership, the programme directors and alumni. A significant number of business and labour leaders take part, as do representatives from universities and national and international business schools. 57 interviews were conducted in total and 25 opinion leaders provided their comments.
Based on an analysis of the current trends in the company and professional training sector, a SWOT analysis was made and the mission and vision of IDEC were defined.

Mission: IDEC is a link between for the Universitat Pompeu Fabra and society, a place where business, professionals and society meet and focus on advanced specialization, knowledge updating and professional recycling.

In line with the objectives in teaching and research of the Universitat Pompeu Fabra as a public university, IDEC offers educational services for all stages of life in harmony with social needs, in the way, place and time such services are required.

Vision: IDEC gears its educational offerings to a specialized demand in the areas of knowledge excellence at a national and international level. IDEC aims to attain a position of leadership in the continuing education and postgraduate markets, engaging in strategic alliances with important organizations in the area of education and the company.

The approved plan is structured in 4 important strategies (product, internationalization, alliances and institution) and establishes a general goal and other specific goals for each one. Additionally the plan will allow IDEC to equip itself with the necessary planning and management tools to enter into a new era in the European Space for Superior Education.
