IDEC Signs New Cooperation Agreements with Latin American Universities

In the last few months IDEC-Universitat Pompeu Fabra have signed agreements with prestigious universities in Latin America with the aim of putting in motion double degree programmes.

The fruit of this accord that was signed last month of April between IDEC and the Faculty for Economics and Business of the University Diego Portales (UDP) of Chile, June will see the start in Santiago de Chile the UDP-UPF Part Time Executive MBA. The programme will include in-class sessions in Santiago and Barcelona and will broaden the lines of cooperation with the UDP by means of the International Masters in Communication and continued with the first holding of a Masters in Publishing.

In Lima (Peru), on the 3rd July, the Rector of the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Josep Joan Moreso, and the Rector of the Universidad del Pacifico, Carmen Rosa Graham, signed a convention to put in motion the Masters in International Business with Specialization in Business with Latin America and Europe that reinforces the cooperation between the two universities. This programme of double grading is directed by Carles Murillo and Alejandro Flores. Live class sessions in Lima and Barcelona will be complemented with on line work.

On the 7th July in Bogota (Colombia) the rector of the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Josep Joan Moreso, and the Rector of the Universidad EAN, Jorge Enrique Silva, signed an agreement to put in motion a double degree Masters Scientific-technical Translation programme that will be offered at the EAN campus in Bogota from the 2008, under the direction of the UPF professors Jose Chabas and Javier Mas.

Furthermore, during the month of July, the third edition of the Masters in Banking and Finances will reach its conclusion. This programme is organized by the Technological Institute of Monterrey ? Mexico City Campus (Mexico) and IDEC, the last module of which will be convened at the IDEC campus in Barcelona. The fourth edition of this Masters will begin this July in Barcelona.

Lastly, at the end of June, at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra campus in Barcelona, Rectors Moisés Tacle and Josep Joan Moreso signed an framing agreement between the Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral (ESPOL) of Ecuador and Universitat Pompeu Fabra that establishes the basis for future cooperative endeavours between the two institutions in the area of post graduate and continuing education.
