UPF Barcelona School of Management researchers participate in the IFOR 2014 conference

The 20th global IFOR 2014 conference (Conference of the International Federation of Operational Research Societies) will this year welcome lecturers from UPF Barcelona School of Management, many of whom are members of the Business Analytics Research Group, as well as members of other research groups from the Department of Economics and Business working in the area of finance.

This congress will take place from 13 to 18 July in the Centre for International Congresses (CCIB), in Barcelona. It is organized by the International Federation of Operational Research Societies and will focus on operative research, a discipline that involves applying advanced analytic, mathematical and IT methods to decision making in a complex and changing world. Analytics, or science applied to business, is central to the teaching method of the UPF Business School, which works on concepts like mathematical programming, simulation, game theory, metaheuristics and network analysis as tools for improving results of companies, bodies and institutions.
