Some 2.6 million euros in investment obtained for the start-up ByHours from the MBA, Christian Rodriguez
The start-up ByHours, a project by a student currently studying the MBA at UPF Barcelona School of Management Christian Rodríguez, has obtained 2.6 million euros in a round of investment in which new investors have participated, such as Labogar, international investment group Axon Partners Group, and audiovisual group Mediaset Spain; in addition to investment support from previous shareholders in the company “La Caixa” through Caixa Capital Risk and the Fons Enginyers (Societat d’Inversió dels Enginyers).
A round of investment where the entrepreneurs, along with the founder, Christian Rodríguez at the head, are still majority shareholders in the company that already has 30,000 users and works with over 600 hotels throughout Spain, from leading international chains like Silken, Tryp, Abba, Husa, BestWestern, H10, Sercotel or Vincci, as well as independent hotels. One important factor that has attracted the investors is the internationalization of the company that two months ago began operating in London, Paris, Dublin, Milan, Berlin and Amsterdam.
Another of ByHours’ novelties is the development of its business model, in which as well as hotel room reservations per hours, it has also started offering its users the possibility of reserving conference rooms in packs of 2, 4 and 8 hours.
After 10 months since its launch, the ByHours application which is free and available for Android and iOS, was awarded best mobile phone application at the Barcelona eShow’14 Fair, the eAwards. Another recognition to add to the continuous success of this service of hotel reservation per hours.
