The Master in Video Game Creation stands out in the National Gamelab Awards 2014
• Three out of the four finalists in the Best University Game come from UPF-IDEC
Three projects designed by students on the Master in Video Game Creation at UPF-IDEC, Path of Shadows, Shijie and Lumen, have been chosen as finalists for Best University Game in the National Video Game Industry Awards. The Interactive Arts and Sciences Academy announced those nominated as finalists in the 7th National Video Game Industry Awards that the Spanish Interactive Arts and Sciences Academy organizes with the collaboration of Gamelab. These award ceremonies represent the most important recognition for companies and professionals in this sector in Spain, presenting the best projects designed throughout the last year.
Academics will be voting for the winners who are announced during the Prize Giving Ceremony that will take place on the evening of 26 June, along with the Gamelab 2014 activities. The gala will be presented by presenter and humorist, Florentino Fernández.
The Master in Video Game Creation at UPF-IDEC has been training students to become video game specialists for the last twelve years. Pompeu Fabra is, in fact, already one of the classics in the National Awards for the Video Game Industry, and will once again this year be very much present. Because, in addition to university projects, the video game Castlevania, with seven nominations, including the Best Video Game of the Year, and Monster Legends, nominated for Best Artistic Director, are both products that have been created by alumni from the Master directed by Daniel Sánchez Crespo.
