Argentina: diploma awards for the Postgraduate in Scientific, Medical and Environmental Communication
On 19th December, during the celebration of the New Year\'s Eve toast that the IDEC-UPF Delegation in Buenos Aires offered to all former students, it took place the diploma awards ceremony for the first edition of the Postgraduate Programme in Scientific, Medical and Environmental Communication. The ceremony, which had an attendance of around one hundred, was chaired by the National Minister of Education, Dr. Juan Carlos Tedesco. Under the direction of the TNCiencia programme presenter, Guillermo Lobo, the 34 postgraduates on this first edition of the postgraduate received their diplomas from representatives of institutions which coorganised the programme in Argentina: Dr.Fernando Goldbaum from Fundación Instituto Leloir, Carlos de Elía from Todo Noticias-Grupo Clarín and Daniel Vitali from UPF, in the presence of the sponsoring companies and entities: Dr. Guillermo Jaim Echeverry, President of Fundación Carolina de Argentina; Martin Etchevers, Manager of External Communications of Grupo Clarín; Jim Harrold, president of Novartis Argentina; and Jorge Perez Alati, President of IDEC-UPF Business Advisory Board in Argentina.
A second edition of the Postgraduate Programme in Scientific, Medical and Environmental Communication is expected to commence in Argentina between the months of March and July 2009. The use of blended methodology and the intensive programming of the attendance modules aim to enable participants from outside the city of Buenos Aires to participate in the programme.
