Master of Science in International Business students to take part in Google Online Marketing Challenge
Four UPF Barcelona School of Management students are set to take part in the Google Online Marketing Challenge. The completion involves a group of students, guided by a teacher, creating a $250 AdWords campaign in 21 days and to manage the Google+ account of a start-up company for five weeks. In the 7 years the competition has been running, approximately 80,000 students and teachers from around 100 different countries have participated.
Lía de Sola, Lucrezia De Laurentiis, Victoria Robles e Yvonne Thamm -all Master of Science in International Business students- will be joined in the competition by Maximiliano Fuguet (Master’s Degree in Research for Design & Innovation at Elisava) and Pablo Pérez (BSc Business Administration at the University of Cadiz). The project tutor will be Victor de Francisco, director of the Master’s Degree in Digital Marketing at ESCI and a Google certified AdWords specialist.
The team will carry out the online campaign for Touchland, a start-up founded in Barcelona in 2011 by Esade MBA graduate Andrea Lisbona, with the assistance of Barcelona Activa. The business, which now exports its products world-wide, has revolutionized the hand sanitizing industry. Currently manufacturing in Catalonia, the company’s hand cleaning products feature a modern, innovative design based on consumer tastes.
“The group’s objective is to win the global prize and visit the Google HQ in San Francisco for a week, where we’d be able to meet also the regional winners of America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia”, Lia de Sola explains.
