Located just a few metres from Ciutadella Park and only 200 meters from the sea, the Ciutadella Campus is famous for housing the prestigious Department of Economics and Business of Pompeu Fabra University (UPF). UPF's biggest urban campus, the space consists of six unique buildings connected by wide pathways and terraces bustling with young Social Science and Humanities students. This is where the full time English-language UPF Barcelona School of Management Masters of Science and the LL.M. in Professional Legal Practice —among others— are taught.
The two main buildings on the campus, Jaume I and Roger de Llúria, were originally built and used as military barracks. After their renovation in the mid-90s, the buildings began to be used for university functions. Also part of the campus is the Depósito de las Aguas building, now a breathtaking library, designed by Josep Fontserè and the then young architecture student Antoni Gaudí.
