The Master’s in Sports Management visits the Circuit de Catalunya

Last Thursday, 2 June, two days before the MotoGP grand prix at the Circuit
de Catalunya
over the weekend of 4 - 5 June, students on the Master's
in Sports Management
took part in a guided tour to see the ins and outs
of a large-scale sports event. Pau
Serracanta
, Managing Director of Dorna Sports and a lecturer on the
master's course, invited the participants with the objective of providing
them with an overview of how to manage a large-scale sports event followed
by thousands of spectators.

During the visit, the students went round the entire circuit, seeing the course
helicopter, the MotoGP paddock, Dorna offices, Dorna production van, TV Compound,
the Media Centre, press room, podium, MotoGP commercial area and the VIP Village.

The Master's
in Sports Management
reviews corporate functional aspects and analyses
the fundamental concept of sports economy and law, as well as sponsorship.
The programme also provides and in-depth analysis of the management and running
of sports companies, events organisation and the management of clubs and
foundations.

The programme is aimed at university graduates, professionals, athletes and
all those wishing to direct their professional activities towards sport, as
well as related sectors such as culture, tourism and/or entertainment.
