Students on the Master of Science in International Business finalize their studies with a Business Trip to Turkey

Students on Barcelona School of Management’s Master of Science in International Business went on a business trip to Turkey, from 29 June to 3 July.  This Business Trip forms part of the master’s syllabus and is organized in order to give students an insight into the internationalization process that companies in many different countries undergo.

Students visited the institutions ACCIÓ, DEIK (Foreign Economic Relations Board), Pirelli, Ford, the respective Chambers of Industry in Kocaeli and Istanbul, Ford Otosan, Wilo, Schneider Electric and ISPAT (Investment Support and Promotion Agency of Turkey).

Students Nicolaas Broersen, Kai Niehues, Hannah Scott and Stefan Weyrich wrote in their Report on Business Trip to Istanbul that the trip had enabled them to get to know and understand the cultural and business sector in Turkey, which they have described as the ideal complement to the knowledge they acquired during the academic year.

We believe that the business trip was a perfect ending to the Master program and helped to put our learned theories into perspective. Many of the key figures or statistics we used for the subjects “Risk Analysis” and “Business Negotiation” came up in business presentations during this trip and we were all capable of interpreting that data.

What we really liked about the business trip was the fact that we did not only see some interesting company presentations but also got to take a closer look at factories of Pirelli, Wilo and Ford.
