Presentation of the Barcelona School of Management, the UPF business school

On Thursday 9 June the presentation took place of the Barcelona School of
Management in the presence of the rector, Josep Joan Moreso, and the board
of directors of the new business school. The creation of the Barcelona School
of Management has been possible thanks to the experience acquired by Pompeu
Fabra University throughout years of teaching and research in the corporate
field.

The inaugural action, preceded by a meeting of the Board of Directors of
the Barcelona School of Management, in the presence of almost one hundred academic
directors, teaching staff at the Barcelona School of Management, members
of the board of patrons and studies council lecturers at the UPF, people
from companies and institutions connected to the institution and staff from
the Barcelona School of Management. In the act, the rector presented the

and wished this new project every success. After the presentation, a meal/press
call was given at which the rector of the UPF, Josep Joan Moreso, and the
dean of the new school, Ana Valenzuela, explained the project to the press
attending.

The Barcelona School of Management represent
answers, ideas, research, exchange and training; it is a model of management
school aspiring to be an international reference point in scientific production,
transfer and the training of new managers for the 21 st century. The Barcelona
School of Management gathers together training courses in economics, business
and public administration and starts this coming academic year, as from
September 2011.

The training to be delivered by the Barcelona School of Management is
guaranteed by the teaching experience and prestige of the Department of Economics
and Business of Pompeu Fabra University, which in recent years has become one
of the leading centres in teaching and research on a European
level.

The Barcelona School of Management is to form
part of the Fundación Privada Instituto de Educación Continua,
a private not-for-profit organisation created in 1993 by Pompeu Fabra University.
