Pompeu Fabra University and the Barcelona Bar Association (Col•legi d'Advocats de Barcelona) to jointly organise a Master´s of Laws

On Thursday 7 June, Pedro L. Yufera, head of the Barcelona Bar Association, and
Josep Joan Moreso, rector of Pompeu Fabra University, signed an agreement to
jointly organise a Master's
of Laws.

As from October 2011, a new regulation will come into force establishing the
requisites necessary for practising as a lawyer or procurator. This law will
oblige future lawyers to pass a training course, carry out a placement period,
and pass a final assessment.

Anticipating this law, since 2010 IDEC-Universitat Pompeu Fabra has been offering
the Master's of Laws, preparing participants to be able to compete on the
new employment market according to the profiles sought by the most prestigious
firms.

The Master's is the result of the collaboration between the Law Faculty and
Department of the UPF, the Barcelona Bar Association and four of the most
prestigious law firms in Spain. The programme, which has excellent legal
professionals, is aimed at the world of employment and offers participants
the possibility of going on placement to the collaborating firms, all of
renown.
