Pere Solanellas, new advisor to the Catalan Tennis Federation
The Director of the Master in Sports Management and Direction will be an advisor to Joan Navarro, the new Chair of the Catalan Tennis Federation, with regards sports facilities and business matters.
Pere Solanellas Donato, aged 44, will act as an advisor in matters relating to sports facilities and business to Joan Navarro, the new Chair of the Catalan Tennis Federation, who will head the federation for the next six years.
Pere Solanellas is Managing Director of Grup Áccura (a business group specialising in developing and managing sports facilities), as well as of Sport Assistance Consulting (a sports and leisure consultancy). Since 2006, he has also been Director of the Master in Sports Management and Direction at Barcelona's Pompeu Fabra University, and in 2009 he received the award for the Best Professional Manager in the sports sector.
“The Federation's new Board of Directors is very excited. We have worked very hard as a team and we have won the elections against all odds. We want to turn the Catalan Tennis Federation around, as there are pressing financial issues to be addressed,” said Solanellas. According to the local business man, the new management team is working on a short-term management plan and a long-term strategic plan.
