How can we do more with less? by Jaume Puig-Junoy

The director of the Master's in Health Economics and Pharmacoeconomics. Online gave his opinion on the difficulty and political merit involved in managing decreasing public expenditure compared to boom periods, in an article published in the newspaper Ara on 24 April. The director of the UPF Health Economics Research Centre stated that “ the challenge of the government today in managing the healthcare budget has without a doubt not been seen since 1981 when the transfer of services took place”. He added that “We have to do more with less and forget false rhetoric, which thinks more of how to hide away invoices and pass them on to the following year, and start taking action based on clinical criteria and healthcare results”.

Jaume Puig-Junoy is director of the Master's in Health Economics and Pharmacoeconomics. Online and the International Master in Health Economics and Pharmaeconomics (online) and full lecturer in the Business and Economics Department of Pompeu Fabra University.
