Comedian Álvaro Carmona to give classes in the Postgraduate Course in Scriptwriting
Comedian and scriptwriter Álvaro Carmona is to teach students of the Postgraduate Course in Scriptwriting, jointly run by El Terrat and UPF-IDEC.
As a scriptwriter, Carmona has worked on programs such as Buenas Noches y Buenafuente and Agitación + IVA. He has been nominated for the Rose d’Or prize for the TV film Go!azen and has won the Alma award for best script for the program Buenafuente. He also composed the hit comedy song Me lo tiro from the same program. In addition, he has written a variety of plays; such as the highly successful Terrat Pack, seen by nearly a million people.
In the postgraduate course he will be teaching the subject of “The Joke”, in a way that joins theory with practice. He will explain the creation process and how he comes up with ideas, basing his analysis on what themes and people to make jokes about, and the importance of the target audience.
The Postgraduate Course in Scriptwriting finishes on the 28th of March with the assessment of students’ final projects, but before then Diego San José (Scriptwriter of 8 Apellidos Vascos), Tomás Silberman (Scriptwriter for Paramount Comedy), Pep Bras (El Terrat) y Juanra Bonet (actor and presenter) will all have shared their expertise with students.
