Jordi Balló and Xavier Pérez Publish El mundo, un escenario. Shakespeare: el guionista invisible
Jordi Balló and Xavier Pérez have unveiled their latest book, El mundo, un escenario. Shakespeare: el guionista invisible (“All the World’s a Stage: Shakespeare, the Invisible Scriptwriter”), in which they analyse the “decisive” contribution made by William Shakespeare to contemporary fiction, particularly film and television series.
Both Balló and Pérez are lecturers in audiovisual communication at UPF: Balló is an expert in cinema-themed exhibitions, film narrative and creative documentary, while Pérez specializes in cinematographic and televisual narrative and criticism. Balló is also the Academic Director of the Master in Creative Documentary offered by UPF Barcelona School of Management. This is the third book the pair have published together, following their two seminal works La semilla inmortal (“The Immortal Seed”) and Yo ya he estado aquí (“I’ve Been Here Before”), which examine the way in which audiovisual fiction works.
In this latest publication, Balló and Pérez explore the influence of Shakespeare on contemporary audiovisual fiction.
