Bajarí, finalist for the TRT Best International Documentary Award in Turkey and the Magnolia Awards in Shanghai
The film Bajarí, directed by the coordinator of UPF-IDEC’s Master in Creative Documentary, Eva Vila, has been chosen from 15 finalists for the Best International Documentary award presented every year by Turkish TRT Radio Television. The Turkish radio and television known as TRT was founded in 1964 and is the Turkish national public broadcaster. It has over 10 television channels and over 10 radio channels, one of which is a documentary channel. Eva Vila’s film will compete in the international category in Turkey alongside 14 other documentaries. The winner will be screened on this television channel. Furthermore, Bajarí has been chosen for the Shanghai TV Film Festival which has qualified her for the Magnolia Awards that take place at the beginning of June.
Bajarí is Eva Vila’s second film, featuring Karime Amaya as main character, Carmen Amaya’s great-niece. Bajarí has already participated in international contests such as the IDFA in Amsterdam, in Guadalajara in Mexico, Montreal and Yamagata in Japan. Bajarí is a production by Lastor Media y Cromosomas made possible by the initiative of UPF-IDEC’s Master in Creative Documentary by Pompeu Fabra University.
