The MSc in International Business class visits the COVIDES factory
The students of this year’s class of the MSc in International Business —offered jointly between the UPF Barcelona School of Management and ESCI— visited the COVIDES Viñedos y Bodegas (Vineyards and Wineries) production facilities last week as part of their programme activities. COVIDES Viñedos y Bodegas is the leading 1st-grade wine-producing cooperative in Catalonia in terms of volume with an annual harvest of approx 24,000,000 kg of grapes. Its facilities have received prestigious international awards for their modernity and efficiency.
During the visit, our International Business students were welcomed by Mr. Ricard Gil, COVIDES’ CEO, and the company’s International Sales Manager, who kindly briefed our students on the factory’s internationalization process and their production steps. In fact, over the last few years, COVIDES Viñedos y Bodegas managed to increase their production by exporting its goods to over 30 countries.
“This visit gave our students a brilliant opportunity to see the international success of a local company for themselves”, claims proudly Dr. Mercè Roca, the Director of the MSc in International Business, “and it also helped them develop a practical approach to the concepts learned throughout the programme”.
After this visit, the MSc students headed up to Poland on their International Business Trip, where they are currently exploring a different country’s international market.
