Kosmopolis Festival 2015 to open with an exhibition organized by teacher Jorge Carrión
The “Sebald Variations” exhibition opens on the 11th of March. It is organized by Jorge Carrión, writer and director of UPF-IDEC’s Master in Literary Creation and Pablo Helguera, the New York based artist, cultural teacher and writer.
The exhibition forms part of Kosmopolis 2015 (8th Amplified Literature Fest) which has been held biennially since 2002 at the CCCB (Centro de Cultura Contemporánea de Barcelona). The exhibition runs from the 11th of March to the 26th of July 2015.
Jorge Carrión teaches contemporary literature and creative writing classes at UPF. As a writer and literary critic, he also forms part of the Kosmopolis Festival content advisory team. He has published three books of essays: Viaje contra Espacio. Juan Goytisolo y W.G. Sebald (Iberoamericana, 2009), Teleshakespeare (Errata Naturae, 2011) and Librerías (Runner-up in the Anagrama Essay Prize 2013). He has also written numerous travel books such as Australia (Berenice, 2008) and Crónica de viaje (Aristas Martínez, 2014), as well as the acclaimed trilogy of novels Los muertos, Los huérfanos and Los turistas (Galaxia Gutenberg 2014-2015).
