Assistance for the continuing training of workers
Workers who are contracted in Spain and who pay Income Tax can ask their company for an individual training permit to attend face to face master's and postgraduate courses, in accordance with Royal Decree 1046/2003 , dated August 1st (BOE nº 219), which regulates the sub-system for continuing professional training, and Order TAS/500/2004 , dated February 13th (BOE nº 52), which regulates the financing of continuing training activities in companies.
Companies which allow their employees to attend classes during working hours can claim the part of the employees' salary corresponding to the hours spent on training (200 hours maximum), through reductions on Income Tax.

Scholarships in ACC1O's overseas offices
The ACC1O (Consorci de Promoció Comercial de Catalunya or Consortium for the Commercial Promotion of Catalonia) is running a grant scheme, which began in 1982, to train specialists in commercial promotion through work placements abroad. These grants aim for Catalan companies to be able to count on able professionals contributing to improving their competitiveness, by training them in the field of commercial promotion by doing placements at ACC1O's business promotion centres as a complement to their university qualifications.
Over these 24 years of running the scheme, 376 grants have been awarded to degree holders to be able to do placements in international trade in countries throughout the world.
In order to be eligible for ACC1O grants for commercial promotion abroad, a series of requisites must be met and an application form must be filled in, as defined in the DOGC. The selection process to be followed for the awarding of the grants shall also be set out in the corresponding conditions applicable to the call.
The duration of the grant is twelve months although this may occasionally be prolonged for a further period of no longer than twelve months, in order to complement the training of those people who have satisfactorily finished the first period.
Once the grant holders return to Catalonia and have satisfactorily presented ACC1O with their final report of their work, they will be awarded a certificate and, if they so wish, they may become part of a directory of professionals in international commerce which is kept by the Consortium. The ACC1O offers the services of these professionals to business associations of companies participating in its advisory schemes.
